And if you are interested, Graeme gave me the go-ahead to write a follow-up... C64 Nightmares is currently funding over on Kickstarter, looking back at over a hundred terrible C64 games in a similar format to ZX Nightmares. There's Loathsome Licences, games that test the Patience of a Saint, the Si...

Re: ZX Nightmares

@Wizwords Oh, when I first saw the word "book" I assumed it was just black and white text inside. I can now see it's something far more exciting: full-colour and graphical; really quite beautiful. This is way more awesome than I'd first imagined when I heard "book". So, when you...

Re: Hidden code in Brainstorm game

Still an interesting read. It's always odd that Pete Cooke started with text adventures, rose to the mighty heights of Tau Ceti and Earthlight, then finished up writing stuff for Firebird and cover tapes. It's more that EMAP/C&VG were looking for a multi-format game to put on a cover tape and F...

Headline by the Register that made me laugh - "The Atari400; the only PC with a keyboard so dreadful it challenged the ZX80, now even less usable" Based on the previous efforts, Retro Games Ltd will release the Mini first and then later the full-sized version with a working keyboard (if t...

These are amazing!

And "wonky willy" is a phrase I won't be googling to find them again.
You can get pills to help with a "wonky willy". My Spam folder is full of them.

I'm not sure why some find it difficult to download from ZXArt. I just scrolled down and hit the "Get" button, the page scrolled down to the Donation window. You either choose to donate or just hit "No Thanks" and download the game for free. Am I missing something? Are other gam...

Yes, this really is Bruce Everiss.
Bruce got banned from another forum of various strange rants, including a very sexist phrase he used about women and claiming that because men HAD to wear trousers, then they should be 0% VAT-rated...

ZZAP! had the equivalent column, known as The Shadow, for several issues. And then Mel Croucher wrote his Under The Baudwalk column that seemed to exist solely to make fun of Alan Sugar and programmers with unusual names...

I would love to read Bruce’s meanderings, but I wouldn’t pay for ‘em ;)

The site says with 9.90euro the printed issue is delivered to Greece! It seems a decent price. I can show the printed copy to my wife and kid and tell them that there is an article about me in a British magazine with international sales! Anyway,I would expect a more extended article :) I've send a ...

But you can win the game! It's actually quite funny. Don't listen to him. Play it. I spent so much time on this. Geez. In other news: I got talking to Jon North (who used to do those magazine pokes) and found out that he lived literally two streets away from me. This is amazing. I hope I shall have...

Re: Should Sinclair have better foreseen the future of RAM?

RAM issues really affected several machines during the early 1980s. Jack Tramiel at Commodore took a gamble on the price going down (and MOS Technologies being able to make RAM chips cheaper) for the C64 - after very dodgy decisions on the amount of RAM in the VIC-20 and Ultimax 64. You can definite...
