Re: The Release Date Project
Best of luck with this - as you've already found out it's a pretty much thankless task that can suck the heck out of your time. When building the reviews for ZXSR I also thought of doing this - there's a a ReleaseDate column in ZXSR for each title (can't remember if I supply this to Einar for the Z...

Re: The Release Date Project
Of course it makes sense, but then I would say that since my own work-in-progress site does a similar thing! It only covers mainstream UK tape releases and dates are defaulted to their earliest review dates and then revised using magazine references, barcodes, product codes and chart appearances. H...

Re: The Release Date Project
+ Technician Ted . Release date. 1985/January/9 (9/1/1985). Interesting case. On the ZXDB is dated as a 1984 game, but according to this brief article on Home Computing Weekly , Hewson decided to take advantage of the post-Christmas market, so it seems that several new releases were delayed until a...

The Release Date Project
Hi all As you have probably seen, since a few months back, the release dates have been added to several new Spectrum games on the ZXDB entries (by the way, congrats for this new feature to the people involved! I love it!). This new addition to the ZXDB led me to wonder, what about the games from the...

Re: Lava (2021 version)
I'm going to guess they decided the first one was too racy...maybe they could have gone for riding sidesaddle! Hi R-Tape Natasha Zotova commented on Facebook: " we decided to use that loading screen for a larger release ". So we can guess that the original loading scree...

Re: The twilight of the commercial era
Not just outside the UK. :) If a game was sold, then it was commercial. There were still commercial games being made after 1993. The microcomputer scene ended how it started... with mail-order games. Well, yeah, but my definition of 'the commercial era' is to cover the period when a fresh ZX Spectr...

Re: Travel Through Time Vol.1: Northern Lights
Yes, I agree. I got a copy of Valley of Rains a few months ago. The artwork raised a few eyebrows(!) but you can tell a lot of effort goes into these editions. In fact I only meant to order Travel Through Time but I impulse-bought The Dark as well! Yes, absolutely, a lot of effort goes into these g...

You're welcome!! Yes, shipping costs to Spain are exactly the same. In my case this time I ordered Travel Through Time, The Dark and Bonnie & Clyde that arrived last week. Last year I ordered Valley of Rains and Drift! and the shipping costs were the same as with 3 games. Overall, really good e...

Re: Travel Through Time Vol.1: Northern Lights
Thanks @Luzie, yes I’ll give that a try! Coincidentally I had trouble with a few other snapshots so I assumed it was just me doing something wrong. (Apparently the game does something unusual with bank-switching that causes the trouble?) Thanks @Audionautas I’ve ordered a tape copy. (Shipping to th...

Re: West Bank Review
I have a vague memory of a Spanish version, or clone, of this type of game. West Bank is a Spanish game in fact, first released by Dinamic. Gremlin translated it to English and marketed it in the UK and elsewhere. Yes, that's true, but maybe @zxbruno refers to Silven Gun, a quite good clone of Bank...

Re: Travel Through Time Vol.1: Northern Lights
I wish there was a quick “restart stage” option for those races where it had been going really well till you clipped one wee lamppost and now it’s all over but there’s still miles to the finish line. Yeah, or a timer. I've been making a snapshot and reloading  Yes there is a way to do it by ...

Praise for the game from Crash writer Paul Davies: https://twitter.com/florinthedwarf/status/1407999159320338434 BTW: I've been searching for that magazine, but only find the old numbers, scanned. I can't find any link/page/whatever about new releases, only something about a kickstarter campaign......

Now we just have to guess the "S" and "Y" :geek: What do you think? The so called "Oleg Origin" (probably not a real name) has always been quite mysterious. You can't even be sure if it was a single man or a team. And I'll tell you something, I respect it ;) If he/they...

Re: Travel Through Time vol. 1 - Zosya
this game runs at about 25 fps. Wow! Very impressive. For comparison Chase H.Q runs at 12 fps or 10 fps and still has a great sense of speed. Better not to talk about Outrun here ;) Can you imagine doing a remake of Out Run using the same engine of Travel Through Time? Pretty sure it would be a way...

Hi
I've just asked Natasha Zotova from Zosya on YouTube if Travel Through Time would be 128K multi-load or 128K single load. She just confirmed that will be 128k single load. Awesome! She also commented on Facebook that this game runs at about 25 fps. Wow!
